Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

• Prepare various Quantity Surveying documents including budgetary estimates (Capital expense reports) from sketch drawings, Bill of Quantities for all disciplines and Costs Estimates in coordination with Projects Dept. & Finance Dept.
• Maintain the cost data base (from internal projects) coordinating with Procurement Dept. And market analysis on similar developments from External Reports.
• Liaise with Project Directors and attend Tender procedures and prepare Tender Reports.
• Prepare award of contracts, checks contract documents as well as make recommendations of contractor’s bid evaluations for Procurement Dept. in coordination with internal team and external consultants.
• Provide assistance to Projects Dept. team on contractual issues daily basis as required.
• Evaluate variations and handle contractual correspondences/ contract amendments/ take part in contract addendums in order to assure the beneficial of the company, in coordination with Legal and Projects Depts.
• Attend progress meetings and provide updates internal teams with projection of costs as required.
• Prepare evaluations/ cost projections of the assignment to meet requirements of works in progress
• Liaise with contractors to advice on requirements of contract.
• Inspect site for collation of information for monthly statement which includes but not limited to recommendation on interim payments, statement of claims from contractor, anticipated claims from contractor and assessment of costs of works and expected final cost.
• Keeping track of all the project related expenses specific for each project and updating cost sheet with required substantiations for easy reference of the Higher Management.
• Preparation and advice on cash flow forecasting for the ongoing projects to Finance department to book budgets for the coming months as required.
• Review and advise lease agreements of the Landlords and coordinate with legal Dept. to assure the comfortable agreements.
• Involve in the technical evaluation process as required for consultants and contractors in coordination with Projects team & Procurement.
• Prepare variation orders through site visits to record information on claims/variations.
• Perform cost analysis and draw up reports on changes to works and contractor’s claims.
• Assist the Project Manager to prepare and approve contractor’s final accounts.
• Finalize the Final Account of projects, and advise Finance Dept. regarding budgetary status.
• Assist in any contracts administration duties related to Quantity Surveying works.
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client for small project.
• Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
• Performing risk analyst reports and value management and cost control.
• Advising on procurement strategy with related to various types of the projects.
• Asses Legal Dept. on decision making and provide backup details if any dispute arises during/end of projects.
• Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks.
• Allocating work to subcontractors and provisional sum.
• Any other related works assigned by line manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying / Civil Engineering or and experience in relevant Discipline.
• Computer Knowledge (AutoCAD, Microsoft projects, word, excel)
• Excellent Communication and Negotiation skill
