Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry in Sharjah, UAE. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Your expertise in cost management, procurement, and project management will be essential in driving the success of our operations and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with specifications and budgets.
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications, identifying potential cost implications and risks.
- Prepare and submit tenders and procurement documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
- Monitor project expenditure and prepare regular financial reports, providing insights and recommendations for cost control.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
- Assist in dispute resolution by analyzing contractual obligations and providing guidance on claims and variations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the manufacturing sector of steel and aluminum.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes.
- Proficient in industry-standard software and tools for cost estimation and project management (e.g., MS Excel, CostX, Primavera).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
