Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

As a Quantity Surveyor specializing in roads, you will manage all aspects of cost estimation, procurement, and project budgeting for road construction and infrastructure projects. Your expertise will be key in delivering projects on time and within budget while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Prepare accurate cost estimates for road and infrastructure projects from initial design to completion.
2) Manage and monitor project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and value engineering principles are applied.
3) Analyze and assess tender documents, contracts, and pricing schedules for road construction projects.
4) Work closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to track progress and ensure timely delivery.
5) Conduct site visits and assess project progress to identify potential cost discrepancies and provide solutions.
6) Evaluate and prepare reports on variations and change orders in road projects.
7) Assist in procurement activities, including selecting contractors and suppliers for road works.
8) Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all project phases.

1) Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying OR Civil Engineering.
2) Minimum five years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on road construction or infrastructure projects.
3) In-depth knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and processes.
4) Strong understanding of contract law, tendering, and procurement processes.
5) Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Excel.
6) Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
7) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary:
AED 8,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
