Job purpose:

As the first point of contact for our school, the receptionist plays a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for parents, visitors, staff, and students. This position combines traditional front-of-house responsibilities with dynamic social media engagement and marketing support to enhance the school's community presence and lead generation efforts.

Key accountabilities:

  • Greet visitors and callers warmly, providing comprehensive information about the school's location, curriculum, admission procedures, and tour bookings.
  • Direct visitors to appropriate personnel and maintain a professional reception area.
  • Maintain and update a caller and visitor database to track interactions and support lead generation initiatives.
  • Develop engaging content for the school's social media platforms to promote events, achievements, and community involvement.
  • Utilize designing tools like Canva or Adobe Spark to create visually appealing posts and marketing materials.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the school's brand guidelines and tone.
  • Monitor social media metrics to assess engagement and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and school tours.
  • Handle general inquiries via phone, email, and in person, directing them to the appropriate departments.
  • Assist in maintaining school records, filing systems, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications & skills:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a receptionist or customer service role with experience in social media management or marketing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, experience with social media platforms, and basic designing tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with a diverse community.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
