Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for delivering direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, to include assessment, implementation and evaluation of care required of the assigned patients. Promotes and restores patients' health by establishment of a plan of care and educating patients and their families about their conditions. Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients and families.

Responsibilities

- Works with a variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, or specializing in one of numerous possible areas such as neo-natal intensive care, dialysis, cardiac care, neurologic care or dermatology based on experience and competency.
- Provides direct patient care as an effective team member and promotes the highest standards of clinical nursing care established on evidence based practice.
- Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety to include interpretation, and evaluation of diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
- Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing age specific and standard precautions practices at all times.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient information systems ensuring the data is accurate and complete utilizing the documentation system that is used by the service scope. Maintain records for patient care in accordance to established policy, procedure and protocols.
- Recognise and uphold the rights of all patients and family members accessing health services and advocate on their behalf. This also includes maintaining cultural sensitivity.
- Assists in identifying and reporting accidents or incidents to the ward charge nurse and/or manager for further review and action by the Quality division.

Requirements

Qualifications / Skills Expectations for Ideal Candidates

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent qualification of NLT 3 years study duration from accredited program AND valid/current national license.
- Or Associate Degree Nurses from North America. (Binding), with evidence of passing the National exam (USA: NCLEX - RN) - Canada: Licensing Exam.
- This excludes programs comprising 2 years nursing+1 year Midwifery or Community Health. Holders of such programs qualify as Practical Nurses.
- Preferred: ACLS, PALS relevant to area of specialty.
- NLT 2 years clinical experience in an appropriate & relevant health care settings post qualification
- Experience requirement waived for graduates of UAE nursing colleges/universities after completion of internship.
