REGISTERED NURSE
For any of these areas / specialities / Units:
• Ante Natal Unit
• Post Natal Unit

Requirements
REGISTERED NURSE | ANTE NATAL UNIT
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing School/University. Current BLS Certificate and current ACLS / NRP. Current HAAD Nursing License and Home Country License.
• Experience: At least 2 years clinical experience post qualification
Not less than 1 years’ experience in Obstetric or gynecology nursing.
• Functions to perform:
- To perform and document patient assessment which incorporates all available data.
- To use nursing knowledge and Clinical expertise in performing physical examination and patient assessment.
- To identify from assessment, actual and potential problems in collaboration with patient and family.
- To appropriately escalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.
- To plan, document and discuss nursing care plan with the patient and family using the nursing process and priorities of nursing care.
- To continually update the nursing care plan as patient status demands.
- Delegate and supervise nursing care delivered by Practical Nurses.
- Coordinate care delivered by the multidisciplinary team.
REGISTERED NURSE | POST NATAL UNIT:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing School/University. Current BLS Certificate and current ACLS / NRP. Current HAAD Nursing License and Home Country License.
• Experience: At least 2 years clinical experience post qualification
Not less than 1 years’ experience in Obstetric or gynecology nursing.
• Functions to perform:

REGISTERED NURSE | NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing School/University. Post graduate certificate in Neonatal Nursing preferred. Current DoH Nursing License, Home Country License. Current BLS and NRP certificate.
• Experience: At least 4 years clinical experience post qualification. Not less than 2 years’ experience in NICU.
• Functions to perform:
- Responsible in the provision of quality nursing care by maintaining accurate records in the EMR and in the maintenance of professional standards through continuing education and development.
- Responsible for the orientation and induction training of new, junior Registered Nurses and Practical Nurses.
- Accountable for ensuring all services rendered are consistent with their education and assessed competence, meet legislative requirements and are supported by appropriate standards.
- Understands, supports and promotes the mission, vision and values of organization. Provides age appropriate patient care according to the Nursing Scope of Practice as defined by DoH.
REGISTERED NURSE | LABOUR AND DELIVERY
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing School/University. Current DoH Nursing License, BLS certificate, NRP certificate. Current ACLS and CTG-K2 training preferred.
• Experience: Relevant experience in Obstetric or gynecology nursing.
• Functions to perform:
- To perform and document patient assessment which incorporates all available data.
- To use nursing knowledge and Clinical expertise in performing physical examination and patient assessment.
- To identify from assessment, actual and potential problems in collaboration with patient and family.
- To appropriately escalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.
- To contribute to the wider corporate and organizational development needs as appropriate within the scope of service.
- To ensure compliance with the requirement of the health and safety regulation of the hospital.
- To implement and demonstrate all infection control measures and practice.
- To perform any other duty as required by the line manager that commensurate with the post.
REGISTERED NURSE | PEDIATRICS
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing School/University. Post graduate education in paediatrics preferred.
• Experience: Experience not necessary.
• Functions to perform:
- To perform and document patient assessment which incorporates all available data.
- To use nursing knowledge and Clinical expertise in performing physical examination and patient assessment.
- To identify from assessment, actual and potential problems in collaboration with patient and family.
- To appropriately escalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.
- To plan, document and discuss nursing care plan with the patient and family using the nursing process and priorities of nursing care.
- To continually update the nursing care plan as patient status demands.
- To appropriately escalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.
- To commence discharge planning as soon as it is feasible in collaboration with the patient, family and significant others.
- Coordinate care delivered by the multidisciplinary team.
REGISTERED NURSE | OPERATING ROOM
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing School/University. Current BLS Certificate and current ACLS / NRP.
• Experience: At least 2 years clinical experience post qualification
Not less than 1 years’ experience in Obstetric or gynecology nursing.
• Functions to perform:
- To perform and document patient assessment which incorporates all available data.
- To use nursing knowledge and Clinical expertise in performing physical examination and patient assessment.
- To identify from assessment, actual and potential problems in collaboration with patient and family.
- To appropriately escalate identified concerns according to level of urgency.
- To plan, document and discuss nursing care plan with the patient and family using the nursing process and priorities of nursing care.
- To commence discharge planning as soon as it is feasible in collaboration with the patient, family and significant others.
- Document in the EMR as required.
- Coordinate care delivered by the multidisciplinary team.
