Robert Half are working exclusively with a consultancy firm primarily supporting financial and technology focused organisations that utilises digital analytic insights to design solutions that help its clients thrive in a constantly evolving world.

The Role

* Pre-dominantly supporting the Global General Counsel providing advice and support to different stakeholders and departments in relation to regulatory and related areas.
* Developing policies and procedures for the business as when required.
* Assist Global General Counsel in relation to any regulatory or licencing matters.
* Engage proactively in cross-functional teams on various projects.
* Liaising with external counsel on regulatory and licencing matters. Coordinate and instruct external legal advisers.
* Working closely with compliance and risk teams in their oversight of the business and operations.
* Implement regulatory frameworks and implementation of regulatory developments and mapping according to the business needs.
* Keeping the General Counsel informed about important regulatory developments and staying up to date with legal developments relevant to the Group.

Requirements

The Candidate
* Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework.
* Critical need to analyse and interpret issues in a timely fashion and provide commercial advice on legal issues.
* Operating with autonomy, largely in control of the delivery of the accountabilities listed above both directly and indirectly.
* Excellent knowledge of information technology and legal software tools required.
* Strong legal operations, administrative support and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritise effectively and handle multiple deadlines.
* 6+ years of post-qualification experience.
* Qualified as a lawyer (practicing certificate required) with experience in advising on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious financial services / fintech regulatory matters with private practice experience or in-house regulatory experience.
* Strong understanding of the financial regulatory frameworks with desirable experience if crypto.
* The ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide explanations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
* Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
