Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objectives:
• The Regulatory Monitoring Officer position is responsible for advising on compliances issues, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption, business contractual law, evolving UN/EU/UK regulations, other legal / regulatory compliance issues, and actively screen, document, investigate, and resolve issues related to Regulatory Compliance services.

Main responsibilities:
• Formulate compliance policies and monitoring programme on the company's operating jurisdictions.
• Monitor and Ensure the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations (e.g. anti-bribery & anti-corruption) and internal compliance policies and procedures;
• Conduct Compliance reviews and follow up the remediation with business units;
• Provide Compliance Advice to business units and other departments on compliance and regulatory issues (e.g. OFAC, Sanctions, FCPA/UKBA, AML, UNGC, etc.);
• Coordinate and follow up on-site or offsite inspections, surveys and self-assessment from regulators; while assisting in managing regulatory interactions, regulatory inquiries, and consumer complaints.
• Coordinate and provide Compliance Training to raise awareness on latest compliance trends
• Support on all legal and compliance matters arising from Ecolog’s operation, including legal review of contracts and other documents, third-party due diligences, etc.
• Manage regulatory compliance updates to the business units by researching and staying abreast of changing regulatory laws – while identifying legal and compliance risks and issues and make recommendation on mediation and action items.
• Export Compliance: Provides guidance concerning the requirements and obligations of exporting under U.S. and non-U.S. export laws and regulations (e.g. ITAR, EAR, FTR, FAR, DFARS, OFAC).
• Works with Internal Control & Legal functions to help ensure compliance with regulations and rules set by various external regulatory agencies
• Monitors, analyzes and makes recommendations regarding compliance with external regulations and rules.
• Helps ensures accurate and timely reporting to regulatory agencies in accordance with compliance requirements and Works with other functions to help ensure that regulatory recordkeeping requirements are implemented.
• Facilitate third-party screening and due diligence processes (internally and with outside service providers) in close coordination with Business Development.
• Create and maintain a Compliance Watch-List Monitor, updating it on a regular basis in line with regulatory changes.
• Ensure their own and others Health & safety is protected at all times and take responsibility when dangerous actions occur to stop work and report;
• Assist in promoting corporate values, and adhere to all corporate policies and procedures; including quality and safety standards;
• Assist in fostering a work environment that recruits, retains, and supports quality personnel;
• Assist in fostering and promoting cross-departmental collaboration, transparent communication, and strengthen the internal communications throughout the organization;
• Prepare and submit regularly reports to higher level management as may be required;

• Confidential and proprietary information includes such things as pricing and financial data, customer names/addresses or nonpublic information about other companies, including current or potential suppliers and vendors.
• Carry out any other appropriate duties and responsibilities in line with position and as may be reasonably required.

• Number required: 1
• Duration: Permanent contract
• Probation: 3 month
• Travel requirements: Comfortable travelling occasionally as part of the job, including travel to remote and/or crisis areas
• Gross monthly base salary: 15000-18000 AED

Salary:
AED 15,000 to 18,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

University Qualifications:
• Degree holder in Law, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance or related discipline(s)

Other certifications obtained:
• AML, OFAC, FCPA / UKBA, ABAC, Privacy, UNGC, Cyber Security, Data Security and Record Retention requirements.

Nature and length of previous experience:
• Minimum 5 years of legal & compliance experience in regulatory bodies.

Specialist knowledge:
• Exposure to defense sector environment will be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills to create easy working relationship with internal teams, as well as external constituents and partners.
• Sound knowledge of modern compliance practices and applicable standards in the industry, and good understanding of the cultural and legal environment of the host country;
• Strong knowledge or experience in business areas such as planning and evaluation, personnel relations, finance, procurement, supply chain management, Marketing and facility management.
• Soft Skills and Personality traits: Committed to high professional ethical standards in a diverse and dynamic work environment;
• Ability to analyze, think systematically, exercise sound judgment, and effectively deal with demanding situations;
• Excellent organization and time management skills;
• Ability to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of local language(s) is highly desirable;
• Outstanding presentation and communication skills, and excellent report writing skills;
• Ability to use information and communication technology in a proficient manner including but not limited to standard MS Office applications, and ERP systems. Experience with SAP ERP/CRM is highly desirable;
• Language Fluency: English
