Job description / Role
Overview
As a Repairs Officer, you will plan, monitor, and administer aftermarket processes in compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure repair service providers efficiently manage any repair, overhaul, or modification of components and Engine/Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) at favorable costs and within agreed repair turnaround time (RTAT). Analyze and evaluate development opportunities for in-house capability and alternate repair & supply solutions to deliver supply chain efficiency and support optimal cost of ownership.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Ensure effective internal and external stakeholder engagement in the management of processes and in enabling clear communication for better end-to-end planning and control across the process chain.
- Review all scrap dispositions as per contractual terms, technical evaluation, and established economic threshold and warranty applicability. Prepare disposal justification and submit for approval as per Limit of Authority.
- Provide regular feedback on projects/performance and escalate any issues where required.
- Raise queries where required relating to modification and warranty applicability to ensure correctness of data prior to processing.
Repair Order Administration (Component & Power Plant Repairs)
- Coordinate with suppliers to retrieve parts required to mitigate AOG, critical shortages, or nil-stock.
- Review all repair quotations for correctness of scope, warranty disposition, and charge. Ensure compliance with scope and that all mandatory modifications and inspections are complied with along with adherence to contracts (if any).
- Initiate queries (if required) with the service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure effectiveness of the process and making sure the returned part is in compliance with the requirements established as per regulations.
- Prepare justification of the charges and submit for approval as per Limit of Authority.
- Coordinate with Engine Maintenance Centre and other service providers to assess the material support requirements for engines on repair and arrange availability of parts to ensure efficient operation.
- Review and analyze supplier delivery and contractual performance periodically. Engage with suppliers on corrective actions and improvement plans and monitor closure of identified actions. Ensure effective internal and external stakeholder engagement to achieve early resolution of the issues.
Repair Process & Dispatch
- Inspect, review, and process all unserviceable items received from maintenance, overhaul workshop, and other sources. Ensure compliance with regulations while processing the components to support the organization's objective of safe and compliant operation.
- Coordinate with logistics service providers to ensure timely dispatch of unserviceable parts, engines, and tools to the destination in a cost-efficient manner.
- Maintain the repair process and dispatch area to ensure effective utilization of space. Ensure compliance with CAR 145, CAR M, and health and safety standards of the organization.
- Lead a team of assigned coordinators to complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently. Constantly monitor workload and ensure compliance with human factors and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain effective coordination with AOG Desk, Material Planning Rotable, and Warehouse & Logistics teams on shipping of serviceable parts to outstations for operational support.
In-House Capability & Alternate Repair & Supply Development
- Extract and analyze data relating to in-house capability or alternate repair & supply. Liaise with relevant stakeholders for technical, commercial, and contractual reviews to enable the decision-making process.
- Develop cost-benefit analysis for the projects and provide initial recommendations based on the analysis and supporting information prior to submission for approval.
- Maintain liaison with overhaul workshops, maintenance planning, procurement, and technical services to ensure comprehensive assessment of the cases.
- Engage all stakeholders on the formulation of candidate parts list for in-house and alternate repair reviews.
- Maintain stakeholder engagement on the projects to ensure all milestones are achieved. Escalate issues for an early resolution to support timely completion.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Experience in engineering: 3+ years.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/business experience in airline engineering/supply chain and MRO procurement function.
- Industry experience in supply chain management, warehouse and logistics, repairs management, material planning/support & inventory control, technical purchasing, or any other support services.
