Research and Development (New Product Development) Manager

Job description / Role

- Lead the development of various new product development projects
- Identify new insights and opportunities for Personal Care product technologies based on emerging external capabilities and trends.
- Establish a partnership between PD/Marketing to ensure development process is in alignment with business needs/direction
- R & D portfolio and team management
- Quality Control (RM, PM validations, GMP, Supplier Validation, Counterfeit identification, COA, MSDS verification‘
- Integrate technical knowledge, intuition, and experience to define and solve problems of considerable scope and complexity to provide untapped business opportunities: result = innovation
- Skillfully communicate the science (Biology, Chemistry, Physiology, etc.) related to product formulations to effectively influence formula decisions, product design and claim substantiations
- Ensure products are developed and remain in compliance with the FDA, EU, Canadian and Japanese requirements by collaborating with QA, Technical & Regulatory, Purchasing & external consultants, and participating in vendor audits
- Develop product development evaluation stages and testing protocols in collaboration with PD, QA, QC, and product designers, and oversee testing performed by in-house lash stylists, field stylists and consumers
- Track category trends to generate and champion future opportunities
- Integrate all required input from regulatory, safety, clinical, QA and processing functions to meet project needs on a timely basis
- Manage internal and external phases of PD responsibilities
- Manage multiple priorities and the changing dynamics of projects and organizational needs
- Prioritize time, budget, and resources to meet the project needs
- Understand and manage the integration of product development, processing quality assurance/control and manufacturing operations
- Execute, understand and interpret prototype testing to generate support of specific project needs; make recommendations based on facts

Requirements

- Open to any Nationality
- Male or Female, 45 years old and below
- Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Health & Wellness, Biological/Physical Sciences, Pharmaceuticals or equivalent
- Background in product development for personal care segments for Global Market
- UAE experience is preferred
- Experience of 3 to 8 years in project management, with exceptional skills and competency in cross-collaborative strategic planning, change management, risk management
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Experience in Providing technical understanding and leadership within the Product Engineering formulation and characterization area
- Preferred industries include Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG’s), cosmetics, medical, dental, health & wellness, medical supply and pharmaceuticals
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in software including: project management software, ERP/MRP/CRM programs (Salesforce,) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to perform project financial analysis
- Contract creation and negotiation skills

Salary up to 20,000 AED depending on experience and qualifications plus benefits
