Job Description:

Research Assistant position in Computer Science. The successful applicant will work within a research project for 4 years at the college of Information Technology. The candidate will work on the research project "Improving End-user Quality of Experience in Adaptive Video Streaming over HTTP". He/She will:

• Study existing techniques video streaming by performing a through literature review
• Design and develop a new SDN-enabled HAS video streaming architecture which aims to avoid unfairness, instability and underutilization issues and maximizes per-client end-user QoE.
• Design and develop a pure distributed bitrate adaption mechanism using recent distributed computing algorithms to avoid HAS scalability issues in a shared network environment and in the context of very large scale networks.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification:

• MSc in computer Science or related field. The applicants must a very strong command of English with very evident proficiency in scientific writing. Proof of admission to the PhD program at UAE University

Preferred Qualification:

• Strong background in distributed Computing and programming. Evidence of publication in International Journals and conferences.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience:

• The applicant is expected to be dynamic and highly motivated to work in independently and with others
