Job Description
Research Assistant position with the psychiatry department. We are looking for a suitable candidate to work on a research project focused on assessing the prevalence of common mental health disorders at primary care level in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. The post holder will be based at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University under Dr Arnone's supervision. This position is for an initial 12 months period and may be renewable depending on the progress of the project.

The role is varied and will offer learning and research opportunities including:

Facilitate recruitment of suitable participants in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi family practices under supervision of medical colleagues. Participate to data collection and storage. Participate to data analysis. Write up data for presentation in the context of conferences and for publication

Requirements

Minimum Qualification
Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree, preferably in psychology or neuroscience.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
Previous working experience in healthcare settings or in government health services would be an advantage. Individuals who can demonstrate career achievements and with a strong drive and interest in the subject area will be preferred.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
It is expected that the applicants will be a good communicator in English (both spoken and written). Knowledge of Gulf Arabic is not necessary. Proficiency with popular software including Microsoft Office, Android OS and iOS are necessary for this role. We would expect that the successful candidate will have a strong sense of local culture and respect for local customs and sensitivities. There will be a degree of unpredictability in hours and days of work depending on tasks but time can be compensated during the week in case working during the weekend is necessary.
