Research Assistant: IoT security
Description
• The Information Systems and Security Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking two research assistants (RAs) with expertise in reverse engineering, binary code analysis, and IoT security starting in Fall 2022. The initial contract will be issued for 12 months, and it is extensible. The project will aim at analyzing deep learning models and develop new ones for Android malware analysis.
• The project will aim to develop an efficient and robust model for the task of inferring the android malware evolution. We aim to establish experimental benchmarks to compare existing techniques with the proposed technique. The end deliverable might be a robust binary analysis framework.
• The successful candidates will be selected based on their research ability, prior expertise in reverse engineering tasks, and strong technical knowledge in deep learning models.
Requirements
• Having completed the requirements for a bachelor in a related field. Strong academic record is required. Students with a Master’s degree in Computer science, with research publications, will be given the preference.
• Expertise in deep learning or binary analysis is strongly preferred. Candidate who showed a strong research capability (research article, tool, public code, plugin, etc) in this domain will have a big plus.
• Candidates should have knowledge in one of the following reverse engineering frameworks: IDA Pro. OllyDbg, Ghidra, etc.
• Candidates should have knowledge in IoT security, malicious android applications, static and dynamic analysis.
