Research Assistant - Grant

Job description / Role

A Research Assistant position is available to join in the Department of Biochemistry, College of Medicine and Health Science, UAE University, AlAin, UAE. The focus of our research is to understand transcriptional/epigenetic control of gene expression in stem cell fate determination. We use hES and hiPS cells to differentiate in-vitro into neurons as well as hepatocytes and use this as model to understand gene expression regulatory mechanisms in normal and pathological conditions. The project involves handling of stem cell lines, epigenetic analysis, handling of laboratory animals, and molecular biology techniques. Preference will be given to candidate with experience in molecular biology, cell culture and handling of animals. Experience in stem cells culture and differentiation will be given preference.

Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven, hard-working person who can work independently and carryout experiments. The applicant must have Master's degree in biomedical science.

Minimum of 1-2 years laboratory-based research experience. Candidates with experience in molecular biology, culture and differentiation of stem cells will be given preference.
