Job description / Role
We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the lab of Dr. Nadia Akawi to carry out research focused on the molecular basis of cardiovascular disease.
This full time fixed-term post is funded by the United Arab Emirates University for up to 2 years in the first instance and is based at the Department of Genetics and Genomics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Al-Ain, UAE.

Requirements
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should hold at least an MSc in a relevant subject area and should have experience in the area of cardiovascular biology and/or metabolism.
Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
You will have extensive experience in the area of mass spectrometry and biochemical assays, together with experience in basic molecular techniques (such as PCR, Western Blot) and human cell culture techniques. You will have experience of managing your own academic research and associated activities, together with previous experience of publishing original research. You will also have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
