Employment: Full Time

The Physics Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a research associate position in computational physics to work on density functional theory (DFT). The project aims to use state-of-the-art DFT packages (such as Atomistix ToolKit "ATK") to investigate the effect of dopants and catalysts on gas sensing and energy storage properties in graphitic systems under the supervision of Prof. Nacir Tit.

The completion of MSc or PhD degree in Physics or Materials Science is required. Research experience in DFT is desirable. The appointment will be initially made for one year with full possibility of extension for another one year depending upon satisfactory performance. The nominal-start date is as soon as possible with deadline of end of year 2019. The UAEU is the largest and the top-ranked University in the United Arab Emirates.
