Employment: Full Time

An energetic, motivated and commercially aware Retail Area Manager is required for an international children’s brand with over 400 stores and franchises across the globe. The brand has been in the region for over 10 years and has become a multi-million dirham turnover business within the UAE. They are also present in the wider Middle East region, with plans to develop this further in 2017.

As the Retail Area Manager you will be responsible for the international operations in Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait with regular travel to these regions. The direct reports include 6 Store Managers and up to 80-100 staff in total and you will be instrumental in the recruitment of staff at all levels and also involved in some aspects of the training. An additional part of the role will be to motivate staff and maintain high energy levels to show a positive outlook to customers at all times. It is essential that the successful applicant is extremely commercially aware and able to re-act quickly to maximise sales and profit in order to be one step ahead of the competition. You will also possess an excellent grasp of figures including sales, P&L, ATV, UPT and conversion rates and implement innovative ideas to show steady growth. Within the role you will work closely with both the Merchandising and Marketing Managers and also attend regular meetings with the Senior Management Team.

Requirements

Therefore the ideal candidate with have a strong retail management background in either a high turnover store or in an Area Manager role. You will have high energy levels and be a key influencer for your team in terms of brand vision and sales. Although the role requires the candidate to work only 1 weekend per month, it is expected that you will be on hand outside of normal hours, so a degree of flexibility is also required.
