Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key responsibilities

Credit Control:
• Collection and follow up calls to non-complex clients that fall within group headers
• Sending out statements on a monthly basis ensuring relevant flagging
• Review of returned statement/letters and liaise with client and database to update with relevant address details
• Dealing with disputes by liaising with BTKs, client relationship team; and billing departments and finance teams managers
• Preparation for monthly ledger review
• Build relationships with the relevant BTKs
• Maintenance of hygiene of owned ledgers, including small balance write offs, client to office transfers etc.
• Maintain accurate notes on the credit control database
• Responsible for ensuring allocation details are sent to cash management in line with SRAs

Revenue Control:
• Organising and attending monthly WIP review meetings with Revenue Controller, Partners and Associates – aiming to reduce lock-up days
• Preparing invoices and narratives in line with billing protocols – this will involve liaising with the relevant fee earners, secretaries and the accounts team
• Collating estimates and proformas, processing proformas, write-offs and transfers • Running off narratives and quality control of invoices
• Distribution of invoices ensuring an organised paper trail exists
• Use of Elite Web View, Elite Enterprise and Fusion Metastorm
• Daily use of Microsoft Excel for creating reports with use of pivot tables and formulae
• Devising and implementing billing protocols for key clients
• Assisting the Team with ad hoc billing queries and tasks

Support of colleagues – working with others as part of a team:
• Takes account of others’ workloads and offers to help
• Share knowledge of IT systems and other specialist skills
• Any other task allocated by legal advisers or office manager to reduce nonchargeable time being incurred by legal advisers.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of basic computer packages including Excel.

The candidate will be highly motivated and passionate about working as part of a team to identify and drive process improvement and efficiency. A problem solver, with the ability to quickly grasp and learn new systems.

High degree of competency in spoken and written English.
