Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key Purpose

Own, plan, manage and deliver all compensation and benefits related activities in the Middle East region to ensure the business develops and maintains competitive cost effective and innovative rewards solutions to attract, motivate and retain employees in the region which includes contracts in the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah & RAK, as well as Bahrain and Iraq.

Key accountabilities

Strategic

- Responsible for ensuring an effective Compensation and Benefits solution which fits with the business need, working with key senior stakeholders to support multiple sector objectives.
- Responsible for navigating multiple stakeholders for collective decision making in all design and implementation of reward projects.
- Lead reward projects along with HRBPs to create effective reward strategies to achieve competitiveness of Serco Middle East.
- Responsible for managing reward plan and ensuring the plan is delivered as per agreed timeline with management.
- Provide input to Reward strategies and reward policies for bids and existing business.
- Work with Head of Reward, Talent and Resourcing COE to create presentation and support during presentations to Remuneration Committee (CEO, CFO, MDs and HRD).
- Work with Group Reward teams to provide inputs from SME team during bonus structure design or share plans.

Operational Delivery

- Review and recommend changes to reward strategy for various sectors and recommend pay elements based on market intelligence and benchmarking.
- Review, design and implement annual pay for performance across Serco Middle East
- Review and provide feedback as Subject Matter Expert ensuring better return on investment and management of employee insurance policies (Medical, Life and WCI).
- Manage the leadership role evaluation process and leadership bonus and share option scheme.
- Provide active input into bidding efforts for pay structures and remuneration recommendations for prospective new contracts.
- Lead external benchmarking exercises and ensure remuneration policies and practices are underpinned by equity and fairness and are applied consistently.
- Identify and act on any legislative changes that may impact on service delivery.
- Develop business cases for required or recommended changes or improvements to reward practices.
- Review current infrastructure in reward and recommend changes to ensure they are effective, efficient and scalable.
- Implement group schemes and work with finance teams to ensure appropriate budget is maintained for SME.
- Be recognized as the Subject Matter Expert providing advice to HR teams on various reward queries/issues.
- Project manage major projects and co-own change management along with HRBPs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the market trends and assist in the development and recommendation of a competitive salary and benefits structure.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement to enhance efficiency of key HR processes and systems.
- Work with other COE, shared service teams to ensure smooth transition and implementation.
- Promote continuous improvement of data analysis, data accuracy and various processes within the Reward team.

Requirements

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

Knowledge

- Possess a solid technical grasp of reward and benefits issues including standard Job Evaluation tools (Hay methodology is preferable) and the ability to communicate that expertise and build capability in a complex environment.
- Ability to demonstrate a track record of delivery in the design and implementation of reward strategies together with extensive reward industry/product knowledge.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resource administration in general and employee compensation in particular; applicable employment laws, insurance coverage and defined retirement plans.
- Strong knowledge of job evaluation tools (preferably Hay) and ability to guide others to build capability in the wider team.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis is preferred.
- SAP knowledge is desirable.

Qualifications and Experience

- Degree and professional qualification (e.g. CIPD) preferred.
- 5-7 years of HR experience with majority in compensation and benefits field
- Past experience in similar service industry is preferred (Aviation, Facilities Management or Transportation).
- Experience in leading benchmarking, market analysis, design and implementation of policies and procedures and reviewing and interpreting highly technical information.
- Repeatable experience of designing, implementing and managing reward elements.
- Experience of working at both a strategic and operational level.
- Preferred experience of managing a highly effective team.
- Experience and understanding of dealing with customers and conflict resolution techniques.
- Experience managing compensation and benefits across multiple geographies in the Middle East region is highly desirable.
- Recognised as a specialist in the field of Compensation and Benefits.
