Job Role:
Risk Infrastructure is a Group Risk function responsible for functional ownership and execution responsibility for the assigned risk projects and coordinate the overall Group Risk infrastructure change agenda. The unit coordinates with IT, Group Risk units and other business and control function stakeholders, external vendors on the formulation and delivery of strategic vision for the risk infrastructure in alignment with and help deliver on the Group Risk Department's objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Risk Management Department to achieve its vision and goals, by implementation of key Risk initiatives, at the same time ensuring scalable infrastructure that provides capability for advanced risk modelling, analysis and control
• Job Holder is responsible to develop close working relationships with the other Risk Management units to implement the strategic initiatives and to operationalize the vision of the Risk Management Department
• Assist the Risk Management Department to obtain an integrated view of risk, by implementing the Credit origination and the limit monitoring platform across all the entities of the Group
• Provide infrastructure-based solution that would assist the Bank in deriving a solution for the issues faced around fragmented infrastructure by implementing sophisticated risk measures, limits management and credit approval workflows
• Facilitate and/or participate in requirement gathering sessions with the local key user groups and to review the current business process to propose changes as deemed necessary
• Recommend IT Controls by identifying problems and writing improvement procedures
• Organize and participate in project meetings, providing status of action items

Assist the VP in implementing the risk infrastructure road-map by coordinating with the various risk units.

Collaborate with IT, Finance and other business and control functions towards ensuring alignment with catering for Group Risk requirements in the build out of enterprise infrastructure.

Initiatives - Simplification / streamlining reporting process/ delivery IT
• Lead, manage and implement credit workflow system across multiple Business units and international branches
• Pay an active role in the SMG meetings to seek consensus from Business stakeholders
• Actively participate as a stakeholder from Risk on data governance initiatives and the EDW/IFRS9 implementation
• Progressively strive for simplification
• Automation.
• Perform vendor management tasks such as selection, drafting of business requirements, and active participation during design and UAT phases
• Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information

Projects - New Credit application / Enterprise Data Warehouse/IFRS 9
• Represent the project team to in discussion pertaining to systems and controls that would enable more efficient measuring, monitoring and reporting risk information for regulatory and management purposes
• Establish & supervise & follow up that the deliverables due from IT are met
• Any other ad-hoc requests received from time to time.

Reports
• Ensure, where possible, information needs are met in a systematic way making best use of technology available and ensure that relevant data is captured to meet the reporting needs of the risk units.
• Review and streamline systems for tracking portfolio performance like excesses, past due, early alert, etc.
• Ensure that is requisite infrastructure capabilities to capture data as per requirements of regulators / internal / external auditors / management
• Follow up with stakeholders for closure of audit observations, if any on reporting related issues where the ownership resides with Risk teams
• Supervise the functioning of reporting / systems function and alignment to the unit goals.
• Determine risk management information requirements of the risk units and translate these into clear, practical, logically organized and informative reports or other system-based solution
• Should be capable of handling assignments unrelated to current domain strengths in the analytical capacity, simultaneously building knowledge / skills in such new areas.
• Act as reviewer of the deliverables executed by other teams to ensure an independent quality check of the deliverables.
• Act as liaison with key stakeholders to drive through audit points or issues
• Escalate Product Risks and Issues to Team Manager and Product Owners
• Extensive interactions with internal stake holders to understand expectations from the assignment and the ability to identify the core issue. Further ability to clearly explain the analysis and how the same addresses the core issue of the client

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

• 8+ years in Audit and / or Consulting or Risk Management
• Experience with Systems / models
• Professional qualification in Finance/Risk
• Experience in Project Management
• Credit Control and systems
• Knowledge of latest banking regulations like Basel and accounting regulations impacting Banks like IFRS 9
• Good knowledge of the Wholesale Banking products
