RO Electrical Technician

Job description / Role

• Follow the rules & regulations of the Veolia & Client site.
• Take daily rounds of all plant, check and report for any abnormality.
• Understand the job clearly prior to start the work and ensure the safety and quality of the work.
• Effectively utilize spares etc.
• Work as a team with other operation & maintenance sections & optimize various activities
• Perform preventive, corrective and other maintenance programs as assigned in an effective manner & thus ensure timely completion of the work.
• Prevent corrosion by cleaning and painting equipment.
• Monitor and maintain all mechanical equipment in best possible ways
• Ensure cleanliness of the area, equipment & tools after completion of work
• Manage his personal tool box and personal protective equipment.
• Understand, adhere, apply and carry out tasks and duties in accordance with QSE policies, rules and procedures
• Report QHSE risks and impacts associated with its activities
• On Call Duty and work overtime when required
• Any specific request from his manager and engineer has to be respected
• Troubleshooting on equipment
• Diligently perform any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of the line manager.
• Understand, implement and follow the Veolia/OSHAD QHSE policies.
• Report any HSE incident immediately, as per VESE HSE procedures.
• Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures onsite.
• Implements and encourages the behavioural-based safety culture through safe job observations.
• Perform daily meetings with subordinates to monitor and promote a safe workplace.
• Actively participate in the HSE incident investigations and prepare required reports in consultation with the department's manager.
• Never attempt to do the job in an unsafe manner which may adversely affect them, co-workers and/or general public.
• Carrying out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with QHSE procedures.
• Consult senior, if aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation.
• Obtaining and using the correct tools/equipment for the work and not to use any that are unsafe or damaged. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in good condition in the approved place after use.
• Use the correct personal protective clothing/equipment and follow the safety requirements and procedures.
• Make sure his/her team members follow the job safety plans and permit.
• Take every opportunity to talk to his/her team about HSE issues. Focus attention on supervising the most hazardous activities.

• Carryout electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of HV & LV switchgears, motors, transformers, VFDs, and generators, including all associated controls & protections
• Test, dismantle, and repair all measuring and control equipment (e.g. actuators, VSD, instruments, etc.)
• Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant operation practices and procedures.
• Perform maintenance on all the process instruments
• Calibrate instruments on-line (e.g. Analysers and other measuring instruments)
• Troubleshoot root causes of malfunctioning and breakdown
• Excellent mechanical skills
• A valid UAE light vehicle driving license is an advantage
• Innovative and continual improvement mindset.
• Effective problem identification and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and apps.
• Hold a relevant educational qualification from a well-recognized and reputable academic institution fit for the required job function.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in the same field.
