Safety Specialist Expert

Job description / Role

Our client is a multinational project management company. They require a highly experienced Safety Expert to join their team in Mumbai on a large rail project. The right candidate must have 15 years’ experience in the safety construction field, at least 5 of which are on large scale rail projects. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing Occupational Safety and Health Programs. You will provide oversight, technical guidance, training and support to the Project Management Team. This position will represent the company in all SH&E matters

Core Responsibilities
• Participates in, and often leads safety and risk communication meetings
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis and lessons learned development
• Initiate safety awareness and hazard recognition campaigns
• Implement Behavior Based Safety observation program
• Prepare and submit performance reports on a regular basis
• Perform inspections and audits for continuous improvement
• Assist in developing and revising written safety programs
• Maintains all pertinent safety documentation and records
• Assists in developing, delivering and tracking employee safety training
• Monitor Contractor's SH&E programs and field activities

Salary:
USD 11,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Experience working on large scale rail projects
• CHST certification is preferred
• 4-year degree in Safety Engineering, Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 10 years of related work experience in the field of safety and health Must have Safety experience with construction related projects and prefer candidates with remediation background
• Ability to interface with all stakeholders in a manner consistent with contract agreements and the applicable standards of reasonable care
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
