Job description / Role
SALES MANAGER –Chemicals / Fertilizers
Based in Dubai with extensive travel -Geographical Area is Middle East, Africa besides Asia (Vietnam, India, Thailand and China);
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• As Head of Basic Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Fertilizers’ Trading, you are responsible for all aspects of Trading including, but not limited to: sales, business development, and nurturing relationships with key decision makers;
• Your Geographical Area is Middle East, Africa besides Asia (Vietnam, India, Thailand and China);
• In charge of daily sales and trading operations including sales estimates, market data analysis, supply chain management, stock organisation and logistics;
• Responsible to grow the commercial profile of the business within the Three product lines, namely Basic Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Chemical Fertilizers; and has experience in at least one business segment;
• Fertilizer Trading: buy and sell nitrogen and phosphate based as well as NPK fertilizers and raw materials (including Ammonia, urea, ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulphate, DAP, MAP, TSP, different grades of NPK, sulphur, rock sulphur etc.);
• Basic Chemicals: Industrial salt (Africa and China), Aluminum Flouride, Flourspar, Rock Phsophate, Sulphur;
• Petrochemicals: PVC, Poly Carbonate, HIPS, HDPE;
• Develop and expand supplier base and Sourcing arrangements through networking activities, regular meetings / interactions and follow ups to make sure the client presence is clearly felt within the market sourcing arrangements and sourcing team that will grow as the Company expands;
• Strengthen, build and develop strong relationships with African distributors / buyers; when necessary travel to visit customers;
• Attend events and conferences to increase brand awareness and to expand industry knowledge
• Ensure credit risk management for both existing and new counterparties;
• Deliver the highest standard of client satisfaction through timely fixing of customer grievances via regular interactions and general grievance handling with regards to cargo deliveries, accounts settlements etc.;
• Working closely with execution, logistics and operations teams.
Requirements
KEY QUALIFICATION:
• 7+ years trading experience in either Chemicals or Fertilizer selling into anyone of the market in Middle East (including Saudi), Africa and some parts of Asia.
• Candidates should have experience in both sourcing and sales and have established relationships with international suppliers.
• It is essential that candidates have container-trading experience. Bulk trading experience is an added advantage.
• Must have experience handling import cargoes.
• Based in Dubai, UAE.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or MBA (Marketing) is desired but not essential
