SAP COE Director

Job description / Role

As SAP COE Director, you will establish and lead the organisation's SAP capability from the ground up. You will build and manage a technical SAP team, oversee multiple partners, and ensure that SAP platforms deliver stability, innovation, and business value.

Client Details

A leading group is embarking on a major transformation, moving to SAP Cloud. The business is building its first in house SAP Centre of Excellence (COE) to own delivery, governance, and continuous improvement. This newly created leadership role is at the heart of that journey.

Description

* Build the SAP COE function, including in house technical experts and a large offshore team.
* Lead the full SAP development lifecycle, including solution design, release management, operations, and continuous improvement.
* Govern SAP architecture and integration across retail, finance, (P2P), and (O2C).
* Manage multiple partners, ensuring quality delivery and reducing over reliance on external vendors.
* Create COE governance charters and interface maps
* Lead SAP related innovation initiatives and support future transformation phases.
* Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and ensure delivery under high visibility conditions.

Job Offer

This is a rare opportunity to build an SAP COE from scratch. You will shape how SAP is delivered and governed, establish long-term in house capability, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of a multi-year SAP Cloud journey.

* 15+ years of hands on SAP expertise, with a strong technical foundation across SAP architecture, solution design, integration, and operations.
* At least 5+ years in senior technical SAP leadership, building and leading in house SAP teams and governing technical architecture (not just programme delivery).
* Deep knowledge of the SAP stack (Finance, Retail, P2P, O2C) with proven ability to design, review, and challenge technical solutions.
* Track record in establishing or running a SAP Centre of Excellence, including vendor governance and in house capability build.
* Strong people leadership skills, able to recruit, mentor, and grow high performing SAP technical teams.
* Exceptional stakeholder management and executive presence, with the ability to operate under high visibility.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
