SAP - Project Manager

Job description / Role

As SAP Advisory Manager, you'll build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities. You'll lead presentations and proposals for moderately complex projects - or for elements of highly complex projects - and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals.

Drawing on your skills and experience, you'll create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership. In addition, you'll package overall project findings into clear, concise, high-quality work products. Acting as a subject matter resource on one or more services, you'll leverage knowledge and experience to shape Ernst & Young's services to meet client problems.

By driving improvements in business processes, you'll serve as a role model for quality & risk management and confirm that project teams understand and comply with Ernst & Young's Q&RM guidelines. As a respected senior professional, you'll communicate effectively with Ernst & Young engagement partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams. You'll also help key staff to build sustainable competencies.

EY is seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to join the IT Enablement Team within its Advisory service line

Client responsibilities:
- Participate in IT Advisory Services engagements
- Help manage the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
- Participate in business development initiatives
- Build strong internal relationships within Ernst & Young Advisory Services and with other services across the organization

People responsibilities
- Effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
- Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members.
- Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.
- Play an active role in counseling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization

Requirements

Technical skills requirements
- Led 1 large scale SAP client engagements. Consistently deliver quality client services, driving high-quality work products within the expected timeframes and on budget.
- Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
- Manage expectations of client service delivery.
- Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business. Should be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Should be comfortable interfacing with a client on a daily basis.

Additional Requirements
- Demonstrated track record with a blue chip consulting organization and/or a blue chip organization
- Approximately 6 to 10 years of total experience and SAP Implementation experience in minimum 4 projects
- 2 years of project management experience of large scale projects
- Degree in computer science, accounting, finance or a related field (MBA or MS degree preferred). PMP and SAP certification/s highly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience working with the SAP Finance modules, as well as 1-2 full life cycle implementations (or equivalent experience) required. Familiarity with integration to SD, MM, FI, CO, etc.
- Have completed the implementation of S/4HANA Finance and/or S/4HANA logistics, and/or SucessFactors.
- Experience executing a business blueprint and documenting business requirements that can be understood by a technical process team.
- Development of project documentation, training materials, requirements gathering and project management methodology experience required.
- Experience with all aspects of financial and management accounting within an ERP systems
- Experience with SAP reporting and business warehouse a plus.
- Experience with finance strategy, financial accounting and reporting systems a plus. As well as knowledge of budgeting, planning and forecasting operations and technology.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating enterprise finance with technology skills.
- Demonstrate characteristics of a forward thinker and self-starter that thrives on new challenges.
- Ability to lead a team of consulting professionals on multiple projects
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated to be at least 60%
- Demonstrated track record managing teams and complex engagements in the consulting arena
- Show initiative and creativity in developing innovative work-around solutions or new processes.
- Strong academic record including a degree
- Project Management and Quality Assurance of SAP modules
- Preferably PMP certified
- Bilinguals preferred
