Job description / Role
This opportunity is with a global leader specializing in advanced industrial products and services for the energy and mobility sectors. They operate numerous production and service facilities across several continents, ensuring a robust global presence.
In this position you would be responsible for the following:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of OCTG products, focusing on premium threading processes and surface treatments, to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Utilize ASNT Level 2 NDT techniques (MPI and LPI) to perform detailed inspections and detect defects or discontinuities in materials.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures to conduct thorough inspections and document findings accurately.
- Collaborate closely with production teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of inspection results.
- Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain comprehensive records of inspection activities, findings, and corrective actions taken.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing input on quality processes, participating in root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years specifically in OCTG premium threading operations.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in all aspects of inspection activities within OCTG or drilling production plants.
- Proficiency in understanding and applying premium threading requirements and surface treatments.
- ASNT Level 2 certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Capable of meeting the vision requirements outlined in ASNT-TC-1A for performing inspections.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
