The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Girls (SZPAG) is looking to appoint a school nurse for our Early Childhood phase. The school nurse will be responsible for the health, hygiene, and well-being of students of the school, in compliance with regulations and ruling of the Ministry of Health, Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH), and Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

Core responsibilities and expectations

• Assess student and staff health issues, provide first aid and immediate nursing care, and administer medications as per DOH guidelines.
• Plan and implement the school health screening programs and vaccination program as per the regulatory authority.
• Ensure that students and parents adhere to and are well informed of screening and immunization program as per school policy and regulatory authority guidelines.
• Develop and manage individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions and special needs students.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students and staff.
• Respond to medical emergencies and situations, acting quickly and calmly to provide care.
• Work to maintain a safe and healthy school environment, identify health hazards, and ensure compliance with health policies.
• Refer accidents or illness to hospital in an emergency and inform the parents and school authorities as per the school policy.
• Report incidents, illnesses, and communicable diseases in accordance with DOH and ADEK regulations.
• Be present for all student-related activities on school campus.
• Monitor the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene within the school as required. Educate students and staff on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle choices.

Position requirements

• Bacheloru2019s degree in relevant subject.
• Valid license from DOH (Department of Health, Abu Dhabi).
• Minimum of five yearsu2019 experience in an international school or equivalent educational setting.
• Skills in providing first aid, administering medications, conducting health screenings, managing student health records.
