Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Role:

- Under the general guidance and supervision of the Hotel Manager, and within the limits of established Accor polices & procedures, the Security & Government Relations Manager implements management directives as channelled through the Hotel Manager.
- Provide forward planning strategies to the Hotel Manager.
- Teaching, training guiding and regular evaluation of security personnel.
- Constant attention to health & safety issues.
- Refreshing skills of the Emergency teams.
- Establish and maintain effective relations with all government sectors, municipalities, owning company and other relevant bodies.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

Planning & Organizing:

Security

- Devises and implements cost efficient manning strategies.
- Operational supervision of the Security team.
- Begins with operational efficiency and ends with professional satisfaction.
- Ensures that all Heartists in his/her team report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform, name badge and are displaying Heartist Behaviors at all times.
- Is fully aware and conversant of ISO9001/14001 and EarthCheck policies and procedures and is responsible to integrate them in the day to day operation.
- Recruits the headcount for his/her team
- Manages his/her team in an equitable manner and in accordance with local labor laws and Accor philosophy.
- Evaluates each member of his/her team at least once a year give team members' regular feedback on their job performance.
- Displays exceptional leadership by providing a positive work environment, counselling employees as appropriate and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to management.
- Convenes meetings with his/her team at regular intervals for information purposes

Government Relations

- Disseminates information that relates to the Local Law and advises Hotel accordingly.
- Monitors present and future trends, practices and systems in immigration and make recommendations for the hotel operating procedures.

Operations:

Security

- Regular monitoring of the Security Control rooms.
- Monitors the walkie-talkie channel for unauthorized communication.
- Regular monitoring the CCTV.
- Theft and loss investigation.
- Regular monitoring of guest room key usage for abuse.
- Ensures that the supervisors are adhering to the policies and procedures of the Hotel in all aspects.
- Responsible for the discipline of the security team.
- Acts always on the premise of firm, yet fair.

Requirements

Government Relations

- Secures all visa permits, licenses, residence visas, employment visas, occupational health cards and any other government administration requirements as stipulated by Law and within one month of an associate starting their employment.
- Secures all health certificates for all employees requiring food handler certificates within a minimum of 3 weeks from the associate joining the company/ from their expiry.
- Responsible for processing and renewal of trade license, entertainment approvals, hotel license and other required documents.
- Acts as Hotel Representative relating to personal matters with all government agencies and municipalities.
- Ensures that standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times.

Administration:

Security

- Checking of the daily supervisors reports.
- Provides a written summary of the previous day's operation to the Hotel Manager.

Government Relations

- Maintains all visa related/government related expenses copies.

Generic Aspects on Hygiene / Personal Safety / Environment/Confidentiality:

- Ensure proper care of all equipment and furniture entrusted for Heartists use.
- Be well-familiar with the hotel's policies and procedures, well-acquainted with the physical layout of the hotel and its premises and knowledgeable of the hotel's emergency procedures in regard to fire, medical, bomb threat, black-out and evacuation.
- Knows the safety regulations and ensures their application & ensures the safety of people and property in the hotel.
- Respects and ensures respect of the hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" of Planet 21 program (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc).
- Understands and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- Ensure that confidential records and other confidential information are properly safeguarded and are not removed from the office.
- Does not disclose any financial information or any other information of the Accor Hotels.
