Job description / Role
Our client, a fast growing beauty and cosmetic provider, is currently looking for a Senior Accountant - Beauty/ Retail who will be based in Dubai. You will be responsible in handling the accounts of 7 branches across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The role will report to the General Manager and will be responsible in managing one junior accountant.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Manage accounting assistant
• Assist Branch Managers understand their operational financial and sales report
• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
• Provide input into department’s goal setting process
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Plan, assign and review staff’s work
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:
• A degree holder in accounting / finance
• Preferably with accounting certification – ie CCA / CFA / CMA
• With knowledge on UAE VAT calculation and filing.
• Fluent in English; knowledge in another language is a plus
• Must have valid driving license
• Willing to travel to visit different branches of the company across Dubai and Abu Dhabi
