Senior Accountant

Job description / Role

This position would suit an experienced Accountant with some team supervisory exposure or a Senior Accountant wishing to take on a new challenge in a highly autonomous environment. The Sharjah location does require those with access to their own vehicle as the office is not easily accessed by public transport. However, this is a great working environment that fosters accountability and trust in its employees. It is also expected that once you are settled into the role there will be flexibility to adopt a hybrid working model of both office and work from home capabilities.

• As a Senior Accountant you will perform a great deal of analysis and you are expected to be an excellent communicator as you will be required to question and challenge any variants in a confident and professional manner, even at a senior level.
• This is not a transactional role and therefore we are seeking candidates that can successfully influence others and contribute to the overall profitability of the company alongside fostering an environment of continuous learning and best practices.
• Assessing internal controls, you will ensure that all entries concerning AR, AP, balance sheets, budget monitoring, forecasting and aged debt are accurate and provide VAT filing and maintain the fixed asset register.
• Assisting the Finance Manager with annual audit preparation, you will further support the finance function with any investigations of non-compliance issues. This is therefore a key role in the finance team of 4 employees as you will also oversee some of the more junior staff.

Requirements

• We are seeking those with a relevant finance degree and 3-5 years of overall accounting experience.
• Candidates will possess strong analysis and excel skills and a working knowledge of Tax, IFRS and GAAP.
• Confident in your communication you will be expected to see beyond the day to day finance cycle and integrate yourself into the team through your consistent, motivated and valuable analysis contribution.
