Job description / Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with 6-7 years of professional accounting expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, proficiency in accounting software, and a track record of success in industries like trading and construction.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare accurate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
· Maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure timely month-end and year-end closings.
· Accurately process and record financial transactions, ensuring data integrity.
· Generate and analyze financial reports to provide actionable insights for management.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors.
· Provide necessary documentation and information for successful audit completion.
· Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
· Monitor and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets.
· Utilize and maintain proficiency in accounting systems such as Tally ERP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, and other relevant tools.
· Recommend and implement software optimizations to enhance efficiency.
· Manage accounting functions related to trading and construction projects, including project cost tracking and vendor payments.
· Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial accuracy in construction and trading activities.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are a plus.
· 6-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in trading, construction, or similar industries.
· Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics).
· Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial modelling tools.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Should be conversant with the finalization of books of accounts and consolidation
· Should be able to coordinate with auditors and finalize the audit working papers
· Independently finalize the books and data entry and finalize and prepare the consolidated financials
· Should have fair knowledge about IFRS and taxation of UAE and other countries (will be an advantage)
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
