Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of the role is to support implementation of the Bank's Compliance strategy within the AML teams remit to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the AML Team by tracking against individual objectives and motivating staff to maximise performance.
* Support the Compliance Governance Department in developing and delivering AML related training.
* Provide guidance and on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing sessions.
* Support the MLRO to identify AML Team resource shortfalls against the Compliance Department capacity plan.
* Act as a role model to direct and indirect reports to drive adherence to organisational values and ethics and foster a value driven culture within the bank.
* Act as an SME to support the Compliance Governance Department in developing, maintaining and reviewing AML related policies, procedures and processes.
* Support the MLRO to oversee local compliance with Group AML policies, procedures and processes.
* Support the MLRO to oversee effectiveness of local AML systems to support operational controls including acting as an SME to define system requirements, parameters, scenarios, logic and underlying models.
* Provide AML advice to internal and external (Group wide) stakeholders as required
* Periodically review the adequacy of controls related to Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Know Your Customer (KYC), source of funds, client information, client profiling and suitability during the account opening process, in consultation with the MLRO.
* Develop and strengthen relationships to promote best practice and ensure a good understanding of AML requirements across the bank.
* Support the MLRO in preparing and/or reviewing STRs reports.
* Notify the MLRO on all incidents of non-compliance with regulation and legislation, in a timely manner.
* Monitor account closures following decision to exit for AML reasons.
* Provide advisory services on the new product review process, in consultation with the MLRO.
* Prepare/review AML questionnaires prior to responding to correspondent banks.
* Provide advisory on CBUAE queries related to previously filed STRs, in consultation with the MLRO.
* Manage requests from the CBUAE to search/freeze/close accounts are executed in a timely manner.
* Provide inputs on the periodic review and testing of the customer risk assessment model and rating methodology.
* Review PEP forms and advise the MLRO on approvals/rejections.
* Review quarterly reviews performed on all Vostro Accounts and updates made to the FC register.
* Review on boarding logs.

Requirements

Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or higher in management, banking, finance, preferably with certification in compliance, KYC/AML/CFT, financial crime or risk management
* Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a reputed bank
* Minimum of 5 years of experience within an AML Compliance role
