Senior Architect

Job description / Role

WHI International – Abu Dhabi - Senior Architect (from concept to completion, Industrial projects).

Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop detailed architectural designs using Autocad, sketch proposal via Sketchup.
• Ability to run jobs independently and manage submittals to Abu Dhabi authorities along with general office duties.
• Ensuring they are in line with the regulations of Abu Dhabi Municiaplity and/or other authorities until building permit approvals is issued.
• Work directly with clients to establish clear briefing requirements to develop the concept design.
• Lead the project team to manage from concept to completion of designs for a number of projects.
• The role will require monitoring the programme and reporting to the relevant parties on progress, change and delay issues.
• Coordinate with key consultant services including MEP and Structural.
• Liaise with the client's representative and any other consultants as directed.
• Processing material transmittal and checking and approval of shop drawings.

The position is one of responsibility and you may be required to work outside of normal working hours or perform other duties such as drafting as required to deliver the project.

Requirements

• Architectural Degree from a recognized and accredited University.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience, at least 5 within the UAE. Some industrial experience would be advantageous.
• Proficient with Autocad and Sketch-up (training will be provided). MS office programs.
• Fluent in English.

All work is managed out of our offices in Abu Dhabi, WH internationals main focus is on industrial buildings, which usual involves complex processes within multi-functional buildings. This may include Head quarter offices, process and storage buildings within one complex. WHI have been an established consultant within the KIZAD area since 2011.

By working closely with the whole team, we ensure the correct sustainable methods are used to minimise the use of valuable resources (such as water and energy), whilst achieving a high quality of design that is culturally sensitive and embraced by the local community.
