Senior Associate - Disputes

Job description / Role

Our client, a UAE leading law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate within the Disputes Resolution Department. The role of the senior associate is to effectively and efficiently manage high-level cases assigned to then. The senior associate is to ensure all aspects related to client’s cases assigned to the Firm are handled in a professional manner with the required diligence and attention.

Key Responsibilities:
• Case Management – Reviewing and studying the case file in detail so that the senior associate is fully aware of all aspects involved and related to cases/matters assigned to him/her.
• Assist Partner – Discuss the case documents with the Partner, update the Partner on hearing schedule, and court submissions.
• Client Communication – Effectively and efficiently communicate with the client on all aspects related to the client’s case including without limitation to updates, progress, strategy, queries, etc, and provide prompt updates on the progress of the matters with clients, most notably court hearings.
• Liaising with Court Assistants – Ensure that the memoranda and bundles (if any) are drafted by the Partner and are ready to be handed over to court associates. Follow up with court associates on the progress of the proceedings/trial.
• Case File Management – Ensure cases which are assigned to them are regularly updated on the internal case system.
• Supervisory Duties – Effectively and efficiently supervise the team of paralegals/associates.
• New Business Leads – Senior associates are encouraged to work towards generating new business leads for the firm.

The suitable candidate must have the following attributes in order to be successful
• Bachelor’s degree in Law
• 6-8 years of experience in a legal role dealing with disputes
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both speaking and written
• Knowledge of GCC region with UAE experience

Salary:
AED 28,000 to 35,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
