Senior Associate - Arbitration

Job Description:
A very interesting vacancy has arisen to work for one of the ME region's top tier firms, within their Dubai Office. The firm is one of the most reputable brands in the region, annually appearing tier 1 on legal500 in many practice areas including Arbitration/Dispute Resolution. At this time, they are seeking to hire an experienced Senior Arbitration Lawyer to take a senior role within their Tier 1 practice. The role will report directly to the Partner and Head of Arbitration, where there will be opportunity to work on some of the most interesting and high value cases in the country and across the region.
Based in the DIFC, this is a key position within the practice and holds great potential for an experienced lawyer who has already been practicing at a senior level in the region for a number of years. The Partner and Head of the Arbitration is a US lawyer, Harvard Graduate with nearly 2 decades of experience in this area. Renowned in the international arbitration market, you will have great opportunity to further your career and work with one of the best profiles in this field.
The firm are looking for a highly motivated and driven senior lawyer who will play a key role in developing the practice and resolving some of the regions most complex, high-value disputes. The right candidate should possess strong business and client development skills, and someone who can contribute towards ongoing strategy and regional development. It will be an exciting time to join this leading arbitration practice as we see international arbitration in the UAE and Middle East in general, driving forward and becoming a more favored and successful means of resolving disputes. (Witnessed by the proliferation of arbitral institutions and rules in the region)
Requirements
• Lawyers should be admitted to their home country or other foreign Bar/Law society.
• Western/Common Law Jurisdiction Qualification is preferred, but not Essential (Other jurisdictions are being considered)
• Fluent English Language skills
• 10years PQE + Dispute Resolution/Arbitration, particularly Construction Arbitration
• International disputes experience
• Excellent business development skills/ability to forge new business relationships
Note: The ideal candidate will currently be a Senior Arbitration lawyer with international experience and a proven track record of resolving complex arbitration/disputes from the UAE preferably. (or other GCC countries)
