Job description / Role
G4S is currently looking for a Senior Bid & Design Engineer for Electronics Security Systems based in the UAE. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will join a multi cultural team of Engineers and Technicians to handle large and small Electronics Security Systems projects in association with the Project Managers / Engineers and Design Engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Work efficiently in a demanding, multi-cultural, multitasking environment with changing priorities and challenging deadlines
- Will be responsible for conducting site surveys, developing conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for complex, integrated security systems and must take into account functionality, interoperability and interfaces both within the system and to outside systems
- Preparation of techno-commercial offers and complete submissions within the time frame as per the requirement, with regard to advanced and legacy security systems products, solutions and technologies, including: CCTV; ACS; radar; fence-mounted, buried-fibre, coaxial and microwave-based intrusion detection; video content analytics; thermal, long-range, and panoramic cameras; C2/PSIM applications; X-ray scanning; under-vehicle scanning and ANPR
- Support the Sales by technically qualifying opportunities and making recommendations on solution practicability, quantifying risk, and authoring technical bid content
- Interact with the customers and consultants to understand the requirement
- Interact with suppliers/OEM for pricing and technical input
- Must be able to work on tender documents (pre-tender and post tender activities), prepare BOQ, technical and commercial proposals
- Presentations – preparation, delivery and follow up on technical presentations.
- Product demos – preparation, delivery and follow up on technical product demos.
- Provide technical back up to sales – attend trade shows, follow up after sales calls/visits etc.
- Familiar with relevant international, national and industry standards and engineering best practices
- Develop, maintain and disseminate knowledge of existing, new and proposed products and services available within the security market place.
Requirements
- An Engineering degree/Diploma holder in Electrical or Electronics or equivalent
- Must possess strong commercial acumen & excellent Design abilities
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Project execution/Sales background with an understanding of gross margin, costing and budgeting
- Minimum 7 - 10 years experience with 5-7 years experience in Pre-Sales/Bid & Design in Low Current Security Systems & Networking
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of Low Current Systems like Access Control, CCTV, Intercom, Gate barrier, Intruder Alarm System, Video Analytics… etc
- Should have designing/ knowledge of IT infrastructure.
- Have a pleasing personality, a hard worker
- Good working knowledge of MS office - Word, Excel, Power point, AutoCad and MS Projects
