Senior Close Out Engineer

General description of role and responsibilities:

The senior closeout engineer oversees and coordinates the final stages of a luxury residential project, ensuring all required documentation is compiled, compliance is met, and the project is successfully handed over and closed out. They ensure all outstanding issues are resolved and that the project aligns with the original plan and contractual obligations.

Documentation:

• Collecting, organizing, and verifying all necessary closeout documentation, including project records, punch lists, warranties, as-builts, and O&M manuals.

Coordination:

• Working with project teams, contractors, homeowners, client facility management, and customer relation management teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of closeout tasks.

Problem-solving:

• Resolving any outstanding issues or deficiencies identified during the closeout and handover process.

Communication:

• Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders regarding project status and closeout activities.

Final inspections:

• Coordinating and participating in final inspections, including those required by local authorities.

Project lessons learned:

• Assisting in lessons learned sessions and contributing to process improvement for future handovers and projects.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably civil, mechanical, electrical, or relevant discipline).
• Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MSc in project management or construction management) are a plus.
• PMP or PMI certification preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, NEC, etc.).
• Minimum 5-10 years in a similar role (close-out/turnover/commissioning engineer) within a PMC environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing project close-out processes, including handover, as-built documentation, O&M manuals, warranties, and final account settlement.
