Employment: Full Time

As Senior Compliance Counsel you will lead the compliance function in this Government department hand coordinate with other legal, compliance, and policy colleagues based in the region.

Client Details

Government entity based in Abu Dhabi.

Description

* Conduct periodic legal compliance risk assessments in the region to assess the effectiveness of compliance systems, identify gaps and develop remediation plans.
* Develop compliance processes and SOPs in line with regional trends and risks.
* Manage legal compliance investigations in the region, often working directly with outside counsel, and other corporate support functions.
* Conduct internal compliance training and education programs from time to time in partnership with the Ethics Office.

Requirements

* LLB up-to-date qualifications to practice law in the local jurisdiction is required; JD or LLM in US/UK is preferred.
* 10+ years of combined compliance experience in a reputable international law firm and in-house with a multi-national company;
* Experience working in compliance function of financial institution.
* Strong oral and written English communication skills; proficiency in other arabic preferred.
* Candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership skills in setting strategic goals.
* Maintains an appropriate degree of confidentiality.
