Atkins Acuity is looking to source a highly experienced management consultant/infrastructure advisor who will be responsible for developing and supporting our Atkins Acuity business in the Middle East. All candidates are expected to demonstrate prior experience in business development, project management, strategy development, stakeholder management, institutional planning and capacity building with particular hands-on experience of transport and infrastructure projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Winning Work
• Develop, lead and manage sales opportunities, across the whole lifecycle
• Develop and drive Atkins Acuity Pipeline and go to market strategy
• Manage, drive and influence large scale multi-disciplinary bids
• Possess and showcase an in-depth understanding and knowledge

Delivering Work
• Project manage and deliver large scale complex, multi-disciplined client assignments and delivery teams
• Establish relationships with clients and build recognition as a trusted partner and advisor

Service Line Development
• Undertake Atkins Acuity value proposition development
• Promote and showcase our Atkins Acuity capability to clients
• Work with main core partners to identify joint propositions

People Development
• Support, guide, coach and develop a team of management consultants
• Supports recruiting by providing qualified candidate leads and helping to sell Acuity, and supports on-boarding efforts

Technical:
• Identifies key sales opportunities and translates these into monetisable contracts
• Develops and drives elements of the Middle East client pipeline and overall go to market strategy
• Develop transport plans and formulate transport strategies for clients in relation to technology, institutions (roles and responsibilities), business models, implementation and procurement of projects at various levels from national, city to community level.
• Engages with subject matter experts within the Atkins Group to gather and analyse and build ROI cases for key national/city sectors such as transport, infrastructure planning, environment, technology and innovation, policy & regulation, sustainability etc.
• Engages with research and technology partners to complement and add value and identify joint client offerings
• Stays abreast of latest trends, developments within the Transport arena
• Strong analytical, organizational, multi-tasking, presentation, communication, and problem solving skills

People:
• Excellent managerial skills, able to manage multiple project teams across different client sites
• Contributes to the teams professional development, mentors and coaches more junior consultants, viewed as a strong team player
• Provides frequent and on-going candid, constructive, and supportive feedback to all project team members
• Communicates well enough to train others on complex subjects or processes

Client:
• Can effectively pitch Acuity’s capability, bids and value propositions.
• Engages with multiple client teams regularly, building/nurturing relationships with a growing number of client staff members
• Understands context of political forces at the client organisation and knows how to appropriately behave/act
• Effectively leads client teams through “current state” and “future state” mappings
• Tracks and communicates progress to client, drives effective stakeholder and communication management

Commercial:
• Understands the professional service industry business, commercial and operational models
• Manages the main components and goals of the Transport Strategy & Planning Advisory annual business development and key account plans
• Manages project accounts and revenue generation
• Displays highest level of integrity around sensitive commercial information

Requirements

• Must possess 3 – 5 years of experience in management consultancy & infrastructure advisory preferably from a “Big 4’ or Tier 1 Consultancy
• Degree; Masters or MBA desirable but not Mandatory
• Strong Management & Strategy Consultancy skillsets including issues identification, forming hypothesis, problem solving
• Understanding with regards to Infrastructure Project Development – techniques and methodologies covering project planning & feasibility, transport policy, economic & market analysis, business case development, institutional development and capacity building
• Experience in preparing proposals and pitches (particular emphasis on ability to articulate a clear delivery methodology/scope of work in line with project and client requirements)
• Advanced experience in Microsoft office applications, particularly Power Point and Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and spoken English (Arabic is also preferable)
• Business intelligence and knowledge of latest transport sector trends
• Ability to work methodically and demonstrate project management skills
• Ability to manage client interaction. We will look for a proven track record in client facing and relationship building roles
• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, both internally (involving other competencies with Atkins including our core business engineering & design teams), as well as externally (sub-consultants, consortium partners, lawyers, bankers, etc).
• Ability to develop an understanding of the Atkins’ service lines and capabilities and identify and report cross-selling opportunities
