The Senior Costuming Manager oversees the Entertainment costume function while providing guidance and mentorship to the costuming team. This position works with the Farah Experiences team as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent quality, sharing knowledge with the team, supporting production and execution of events and shows while maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace, guaranteeing high standards in the delivery of all offerings and preserving production and execution values across the properties.

Job Scope:
- Oversees costume production and operations for shows, character experiences and all other entertainment related offerings, including corporate functions and seasonal events
- Develops systems and procedures to support the entertainment operations from a costuming standpoint
- Works with other properties and departments within the business to find synergies and efficiencies in the costuming section of the department
- Leads costume related procurement, taking into account company’s policies, procedures, delegation of authority while observing IP guidelines
- Prepares and manages costume related budgets to include operational expenses and capital developments
- Develops and maintains an updated inventory of costumes and costume related equipment and plans for replacements and repairs in a timely manner
- Works with licensor on approvals for both costume related operational matters and new developments
- Sets internal costume procedures and monitors operations to ensure alignment with IP guidelines
- Instructs technical team on repairs, including hair/wig care, theatrical makeup and prosthetics
- Plans for the costuming needs for all new and existing productions with elements including but not limited to:
- Manages the costume design needs and processes with relevant external vendors
- Oversees the proper storage, organization and maintenance of appropriate inventory levels of all costume pieces
- Ensures appropriate levels of consumable supplies such as detergents, fabric, dye, thread and related notions
- Ensures costuming equipment, including washers, dryers, steamers, and sewing machines are in working order
- Sources and maintains relevant contacts within the costuming industry
- Oversees laundry to maintain all shows’ costumes clean and ready for operations
- Prepares and distributes schedules for the wardrobe team ensuring sufficient coverage to operate the shows while accounting for unforeseeable and urgent repairs
- Sets targets, objectives, KPIs and provides coaching and counseling to the team when applicable
- Leads costuming team providing mentorship and feedback to management and technical costuming team
- Assists the Department with planning and execution of events and other entertainment offerings as needed
- Provides management coverage at entertainment shows and venue
- Acts as entertainment manager on duty when requested
- Performs other reasonable duties as requested by senior management

Requirements

- Higher Secondary or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years in theme park or 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry and large scale productions including events
- Leadership skills
- Costume production and operations management
- Ability to lead procurement and contracting for costumes
- Knowledge of hair/wig care, theatrical makeup and prosthetics
- Experience with development and operations of IP related costumes
- Communication skills including proficiency in English
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in theatre arts with emphasis on costuming
- 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry and theme park; 4 years of experience leading a team in a theme park environment
- Costume design, sketching; stage management; park pre-opening and large scale show production experience
