Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As the Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for leading negotiations and drafting across all commercial transactions for the Group.

Client Details

A prominent retail group based out of the UAE and operating across the region.

Description

* Provide leadership and expertise in corporate-commercial law, managing your own projects as well as being a mentor to junior counsels.
* Effectively manage negotiations and drafting for commercial transactions across the Group (non-Arabic only).
* Execute large commercial transactions across the region, including M&As, JVs and partnerships.
* Investigate and analyse legal claims against the Group, assisting the GC and other Arabic-speaking lawyers, along with external counsel (if appropriate).
* Manage the corporate function, including new entity formation, corporate governance and compliance with internal bylaws.
* Be approachable and collaborative when working with other business functions to provide legal advice.

Requirements

* 8+ years PQE, ideally qualified in a common law jurisdiction.
* Impeccable English drafting skills, demonstrable by previous body of work.
* Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Experience in a large holding group or international organisation preferable, whether in the GCC or abroad.
