Senior Data Analyst

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst with a strong background in the financial services or oil and gas industries. The ideal candidate will possess a solid track record of translating complex data into actionable insights, developing dynamic dashboards, and supporting business decision-making through data-driven strategies. A background working with Big 5 consulting firms (BCG, Bain, Strategy&, PWC, etc.) would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business growth and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, and other data visualization tools, ensuring stakeholders have access to critical insights.
• Perform advanced data validation, cleaning, and analysis to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven recommendations that align with business objectives.
• Utilize statistical programming tools such as SQL, Python, R Studio, and MySQL for predictive modeling and quantitative analysis.
• Lead and implement data projects focused on risk management, operational efficiency, and strategic business planning within financial services or oil and gas contexts.
• Prepare and present data findings and actionable insights to senior management and leadership teams.
• Implement machine learning models and other data analysis techniques for predictive insights and business optimization.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and quality management standards across all data analysis processes.

• 5-7 years of experience as a Data Analyst in the financial services or oil and gas industries.
• Proven track record in delivering data-driven solutions and actionable insights that influence business decision-making.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau for creating dashboards and reports.
• Advanced skills in SQL, Python, R Studio, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, quantitative analysis, and predictive analytics.
• Experience working with large datasets and advanced data validation/cleaning techniques.
• Prior experience working with Big 5 consulting firms or similar prestigious firms (BCG, Bain, Strategy&, PWC) is a plus.
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certifications will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with machine learning and implementing predictive models.
• Hands-on experience in operations management, vendor management, and compliance.
• Experience in leading and mentoring junior analysts or cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to manage projects in high-stakes industries such as financial services and oil and gas.

Salary:
AED 20,000 to 30,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
