Job description / Role
The purpose of this position is to design and implement data products that can produce actionable insights which third parties will be willing to pay for.
The job holder will ensure clear project and resource planning for ‘Big Data’ monetization products. The nature of the job requires clear coordination and negotiation at business mid-management level to ensure compliancy to the requirements for clean and rapid insights delivery.
The job holder has to manage inter departmental relationships; especially with Network, IT, Enterprise and help team members in meeting the business expectations and the timelines.
Requirements
Minimum experience:
• Total work experience to be at least 9 years.
• Experience (at least 4 years) in a similar capacity (preferably within a Telco). Proven experience leading technical teams.
• Strong record in building data products and models that have gone all the way from prototype to beta to operations (both in near-real time and batch scenarios).
• Strong background in predictive modeling, machine learning and data mining.
• Lean and scientific mentality. Strong orientation to solving real customer problems.
• Excellent coding skills both in the Object-Oriented and Functional paradigms (Scala/Java).
• Strong skills working with spatio-temporal data and GIS technologies such as QGIS, Google Maps and ArcGIS. Geospatial libraries (Geo-tools, JTS) and Coordinate Reference Systems (WGS84, UTM).
• Ability to effectively plot complex and multi-dimensional datasets (involving spatial and temporal features) and to visualize end-customer insights so that they are ready to be consumed by non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on experience with dash boarding tools (Qlikview, Microstrategy, Tableau).
• Comfortable with SQL, relational DBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and MPPs (Teradata, Greenplum). Spatial extensions (PostGIS).
• Good understanding of the main components in any Hadoop deployment (HDFS, YARN, NoSQL databases, data access components, workflow scheduling, cloud management and monitoring, etc).
Minimum education:
• Minimum Bachelor in Information Technology/ Information Services/ Computer Science
• Master’s degree is a plus
• Certifications such as e-TOM,TOGAF, ISO, ITIL etc. is a plus
