Senior Database Administrator

Job description / Role

- Oracle and SQL Server incident/service request related database Management .
- Reviewing database policies monthly to ensure policies are in line to current deployed stack
- Scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance activities with daily dashboard
- Daily tracking of monitoring alerts via supplier platform
- Reconciliation of Administrative, Generic & local users/system accounts on monthly basis as part of Audits
- Maintenance of complete deployed inventory which should be tracked weekly and published as report
- Monthly report out of procured Vs. deployed inventory
- Adhering Security Server hardening document & guidelines for existing databases as well as for any database.
- New DB server installation, patching, clustering as per business requirements
- New database, schema, instance creation on already existing infrastructure
- OEM Support contracts
- OEM Dashboards need be published on monthly basis on the basis of their SLA's.
- Implementing and supporting BCP/ DRP solutions for databases which are under BCP scope
- New technologies evaluation for productivity/new requirements
- Existing infrastructure Capacity Management with monthly report out
- Existing infrastructure scale up/designing/implementation/Management
- New infrastructure designing/implementation/project management
- Co-ordination with different Vendors & OEMs for RCA / RCCA
- Assist Service Desk for DB incident related issues
- Creation of Known Error DB for DB related incidents and Workarounds
- Resolving all incidents logged in supplier ITSM created out of system alerts for DB, with a workaround as per TAT
- Automated scheduled data archival and purging
- Taking backup of all DB servers/ databases
- Executing incident related DB backup and restoration requests
- Executing test restoration for DBs to ensure backups are reliable and retrievable on need
- Assisting Service Desk for DB backup related issues
- Handling unscheduled/ ad hoc DB backup/ recovery requests
- Infrastructure RCA, and continual focus in reducing risk
- Providing inputs to change management team - impact analysis, test plan, rollback plan for all DB server changes
- Planning and scheduling change requests as per defined SLA norms
- Implementation of audit/ compliance processes related to database management
- Creating guidelines and deployment of guidelines for hardening DB servers for robust security configurations
- Testing redundancies and disaster recovery every six months
- Replicating/ creating databases and cloning Oracle Applications on need basis

Requirements

- The right candidate should have Oracle, SQL, Peoplesoft experience
- Knowledge in ERP, DR failover related experience and troubleshooting
- Candidate Must have 4 - 5 years of experience in Database Administration in Oracle and SQL
