Job description / Role
Are you a Senior Database Engineer with sound analytical and problem solving skills? Do you want to work in Dubai for a globally recognised brand? If so then this could be the role for you.
The role is on a 12-month rolling contract basis and you will also receive a competitive salary, medical insurance, holiday and sick pay and an annual flight.
JOB ROLE:
To support the NoSQL databases of the company. Working as part of the database support team with NoSQL databases you will support and deliver robust and cost effective solutions for both Business and IT led initiatives including solution development and cost estimations, configuration and deployment & Business Case development & approval.
You will also support, contribute and ensure development of the roadmap of the concerned technology roadmap aligning with IT strategy.
You will perform database maintenance, including but not limited to the following: patching, upgrades, fixes, performance tuning, index rebuilds, monitoring, user access, security, storage maintenance.
Requirements
- Extensive NoSQL database administration. Deployment, operations, tuning, backup, security.
- Strong knowledge in NoSQL data modelling, writing, tuning and optimizing statements in respective languages and scripting for NoSQL DBs – Cassandra’s CQL, Couchbase’s N1QL etc.
- Advanced knowledge in NoSQL database architecture and deployments.
- Experience in the usage of NoSQL DBs in public cloud style deployments – Amazon AWS, MS Azure. Cloud aware architectures deployment and support background.
- Expert knowledge in performance tuning, capacity management and troubleshooting large NoSQL DB deployments with continuous availability requirements.
- Working experience in RDBMS databases (Oracle, MS SQL).
- Oracle database 11g and 12c administration.
- Strong experience with data modelling, writing, tuning and optimizing SQLs and PL-SQL for relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL).
