Job description / Role
As a Senior Designer you assist the Design Manager in the completion and implementation of design projects in accordance with agreed parameters of quality standards, costs and timeliness.
What you will be doing
- To provide designs and check to ensure they are accurate and in line with defined requirements.
- To assist the Design Manager in the proper utilization of design resources.
- To guide junior staff in design processes and technical matters
- To provide support to the Design Manager in achieving the completion of design projects to time and budget.
- To provide support in agreeing the project brief, establishing timelines, delegating tasks and monitor progress of the same.
- To undertake Value Engineering reviews and make recommendations for improvement during the various design stages and advise Design Manager on any matters arising.
- Coordinate / Liaise with Consultants, Client , Landlords etc on all client related changes, comments, and ensure approvals and consequent incorporation in the design.
- Ensure design compliance is line with best practices, BU requirements and Company policies and procedures
- Monitor the performance of their team members to ensure the design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements
- To check contractors workshop drawings to ensure alignment with the designer's intent.
Requirements:
You will need to have the following education, skills and experience to qualify for the position:
- Diploma or Degree in Architecture/or Interior Design
- Alternatively an e quivalent technical qualification relevant to retail deign /construction
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience in Concept and/or Detailed design.
- Retail store design experience in Luxury is ideally preferred.
- Advance experience in tools like AutoCAD, Sketchup 3D, Rendering 3D software.
- Ability to work on high volume and multiple projects within a short timelines.
- Passion in creating exceptional retail experiences.
- Excellent Communication skills
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
- Self Driven and strong project management skills.
