Senior Relationship Manager - African Region

My client is a global Financial Services Company and a household name. They currently seek an experienced Business Developer for the Relationship Management team to be based in either Dubai, London or Paris.  This role offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced and dynamic team in a demanding, ever-changing and growing business environment.  This is a business development and relationship management role focusing on the African Financial Landscape.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual who will be responsible for developing and executing the marketing strategy for the business in the African continent. This will entail building and leveraging relationships with Corporate entities, with Bankers and with Private Equity/Sponsors as well as supporting business initiatives in Africa, with the aim of  creating new revenue streams in these countries.
 
An important aspect of the role will be to continue to raise the profile of the Companies brand through consistent marketing to Stakeholders.
 
Principal responsibilities will include:
 
* The origination of new business directly from African clients
* Management of a growing portfolio of existing Clients (in conjunction with the London and Middle East team)
* Develop and maintain a portfolio of private equity sponsors who are relevant and strategic to the region
* Responsible for expanding the brand within the region. 

Working alongside the Middle East and African Regional Head, the ideal candidate will be creative in developing ideas for brand promotion and engagement with Target and established Clients. 
 
Other responsibilities include:
 
* Management and execution of a small number of special projects including but not limited to new product development, competitor analysis and bespoke marketing initiatives, as well as supporting their line manager on bespoke tactical and strategic projects.
* The preparation of fee letters and associated legal documentation associated with new business. 
* Preparation of local pitches and marketing materials to be used in new business generation and retention.
* The successful candidate will also be in charge of fee negotiations for both existing and new clients within the portfolio/sector.
* Business retention and existing relationship management is also an important feature of the role
* Liaising frequently with colleagues in EMEA to help coordinate market interaction.
 
Qualifications and experience:

* This role requires an experienced individual with highly developed and proven business development, marketing and sales skills. 
* Extensive experience of capital markets with at least significant experience of banking/corporate finance experience or direct interaction in a business development role with corporate CFOs/Treasury staff, and a demonstrated record of achievement in this area
* An established network of African bankers is a plus. 
* An established network of African corporates at Treasury and CFO level, Private Equity sponsors, and DCM bankers would be extremely advantageous. 
* The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate confidently and persuasively at senior management level with issuers and bankers.
* Strong marketing, interpersonal and negotiation skills are a prerequisite.
* Self-starter with the motivation to initiate own sales & marketing strategies and execution plans. 
* Excellent English language skills is essential.
* Able to work independently within a strategic framework whilst maintaining high work standards and show excellent attention to detail
* Team oriented, with ability to effectively build relationships both externally and internally.
