Job description / Role
- Responsible for all day to day electrical engineering aspects of the project.
- Responsible for the electrical engineering resourcing and day to day task allocation for the structural engineers and inspectors working on the project.
- Manage the workload of electrical engineers and inspectors (including verification of quality) Responsible for reporting of progress to Project Director, to include the any escalations and key engineering issues.
- Communicate directly with the Client as required
- Set up and manage electrical engineering project administrative systems – submittals and RFI listings - including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary).
- Liaise and coordinate with the other engineering teams on site – Structural, electrical etc
- Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service and site decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
- Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of site and client matters.
- Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests
- Respond to Requests for Information raised by the contractor in relation to the information issued for construction and ensure that information from the design engineers is incorporated.
- Review Contractor’s Electrical shop drawings, method statements and material submittals against the contract drawings for compliance where issues associated with the design intent are being questioned.
- Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the Electrical works for Contractor’s adherence to the design intent in drawings and specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety.
Requirements
- Degree holder of Electrical Engineering.
- 7 + years of work experiences in MEP in Civil Construction Projects.
- Experience gathered GCC countries o Middle East is a must.
- Should be aware of electrical systems generally
- Has knowledge of new electrical design and equipment.
- Should have good visualization skills and ability to work projects of complex nature.
- Understands of manufacturing processes, construction methods, engineering design and production.
- Has Knowledge of supervisory management and ability to handle technical subordinates.
- Has a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
