Senior Electrical Engineer

Job description / Role

Job Purpose:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the FEED and detail design, onshore, and Brownfield activities of the BP_ROO_EPCM project in Abu Dhabi, overseeing electrical engineering aspects and ensuring the successful delivery of the project.

Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and handle detail design and engineering activities for the project.
- Develop electrical specifications, datasheets, calculations, and drawings in compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Review and approve electrical design, plans, and layouts.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and client to ensure the integration of electrical systems into the overall project design.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Attend site visit and inspection to ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards, if required
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
- Participate in project meetings to address electrical engineering related issues.
- Perform Technical Bid Evaluation and vendor document review.

Functional Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, installation, and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets for electrical engineering activities.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in electrical engineering.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Experience in designing and implementing electrical systems for O& G projects.

Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Relevant experience (12+) in electrical engineering for projects in the oil and gas industry

The Senior Electrical Engineer will work in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for the BP_ROO_EPCM project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
