Senior Electrical Engineer

Job purpose

• Execute electrical design activities within concept, FEED (front-end engineering design) and detail engineering for oil & gas projects.
• Ensure high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of electrical design and related deliverables in accordance with project requirements, international codes, and standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with multi-discipline teams and clients.

Job responsibilities

• Manage and handle detailed design and engineering activities for the project.
• Develop electrical specifications, datasheets, calculations, and drawings in compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Review and approve electrical design, plans, and layouts.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and clients to ensure the integration of electrical systems into the overall project design.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Attend site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards, if required.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
• Participate in project meetings to address electrical engineering related issues.
• Perform technical bid evaluation and vendor document review.

Functional responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets for electrical engineering activities.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in electrical engineering.

Technical skills

• Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Experience in designing and implementing electrical systems for O&G projects.
• Ability to perform electrical calculations and analysis.

Soft skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Relevant experience (12+) in electrical engineering for projects in the oil and gas industry.
